Reagent documentation / iPassport

Controlled documents stay in iPassport. Stock stores only IDs and URLs plus lot data.

Link a reagent (admin / catalogue)

  1. Add → Reagent or Edit Data → Edit Reagent.
  2. Set iPassport reference ID and/or iPassport reference URL. Do not paste SDS/IFU text into Stock.
  3. Save, then confirm the link on an inventory item (right-hand reagent panel).
Add menu with Inventory Item, Reagent, Recipe
Admins add catalogue reagents from + Add → Reagent. Lab users do not see this menu.
New Reagent Input form including iPassport fields
New Reagent Input includes iPassport reference ID and URL, home laboratory, shared-across-labs, tracking mode, and Requires validation.

Use at the bench

  1. Open the item. The right-hand table shows iPassport ID and URL (or None).
  2. Open the URL in a new tab, then return to Stock for Open / Use / Finish.
  3. Book-in captures lot, quantity/volume, PO, expiry, storage, and lab — not controlled documents.
  4. Reports → Inventory (reagents below minimum) includes an iPassport column for pre-order checks.
Item page with reagent master data including iPassport fields
Item page: lot details on the left; reagent master data (including iPassport) on the right. Open reagent audit trail covers every lot of that reagent.

Activity across lots

From the item page or the reagent name on List of Reagents, open the reagent. Activity & audit trail lists who changed master data and what happened on each lot (append-only).

Reagent detail: catalogue number, View stock (all lots), and an append-only activity table (action, who, lab, record, details).
